Jerry Trapani, a good friend and Carriage Association of America (CAA) Board Member, called to ask if The Carriage Barn could help Pat. Pat was quadriplegic “C4.” She was trying to have her horse trained to pull a newly acquired carriage. Arrangements were made to truck her carriage and horse to New Hampshire under Jerry’s supervision.
Pat’s horse Jazzy was 850 pounds, gaited, and out of shape. The carriage was twice the horse’s weight, oak and heavy metal. Pat’s electric wheelchair was 300 pounds and Pat’s own weight was over 200 pounds….
